Tue, Dec 12, 23

We have four wines for the December Wine of the Month:

The Mountain Shadows wines are all Wine Enthusiast Best Buys and priced below the suggested retail price of $14.99. The Bobal, though not well-known, boasts a 90pt rating from Vinous and 91pt rating from James Suckling. While normally priced at $11.99 per bottle, this month you can Mix and Match 2/$20.

Offer valid through December 31st, 2023 at all Missouri locations.

    Mountain Shadows 2021 Sauvignon Blanc
"Lime and grass dominate the nose of this white with moderate acidity. The palate shows an herbaceous character featuring lime and white grapefruit that fade away into a short finish."  -Wine Enthusiast, Best Buy

    Mountain Shadows 2021 Red Blend
"Notes of tart cherry merge with hints of smoke and spices. It's fruity, has soft tannins and a medium finish."  -Wine Enthusiast, Best Buy

    Mountain Shadows 2021 Chenin Blanc
"Notes of flowers and citrus fruit emerge from the glass. It has an herbaceous character with a mix of lime and apples that is lifted by vigorous acidity. Grass flavors close the palate."  -Wine Enthusiast, Best Buy

    Aldea Los Marcos 2019 Bobal
"A deep nose of blueberries and blackberries with some bacon and black-pepper spice. A full-bodied Bobal with rich, sweet black fruit, framed by powerful yet creamy tannins. Smooth and quite long. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold."  -91pts, James Suckling

"Saturated ruby. Cherry, blueberry and licorice scents are sharpened by a peppery nuance that builds with air. Primary dark fruit and spicecake flavors are braced by a spine of juicy acidity and show good energy and back-end lift. The licorice quality comes back on the persistent finish, which features gently chewy tannins and a hint of succulent herbs."  -90pts, Vinous
